“Crazy quilts” are a riot of rich fabrics, decorative topstitching, and hand-painted accents. The improvisational aesthetic of these presentation quilts was aided by advances in 19th-century textile manufacturing and the popular press. Join Katie Wood Kirchhoff, Alice Cooney Frelinghuysen Curator of American Decorative Arts, for a tour exploring themes related to remarkable examples from Shelburne Museum’s permanent collection.
Limited to first 20 participants.
