Come hear stories of the Ti and tell your own!

A Listening Party brings people together to share the experience of listening deeply. A bit like a DJ set of the spoken word you’ll hear stories and sounds of the world around us drawn from the Archive at Vermont Folklife.

Thanks to oral history collections focused on Lake Champlain and the Ti itself recorded in the 1970s-90s, we can hear first hand accounts of life and work on board the iconic steamship Ticonderoga with stories from ship captains, former teenage deck hands, and even tales from the people who helped move the boat overland to its current home in 1955.

We’ll also invite YOU, our audience, to share your own stories connected to the Ticonderoga, whether you have memories of the ship on the lake or visiting one of the Museum’s most popular sites, what has the Ticonderoga meant to you?
