Take a closer look at the stitches, materials, and techniques used by young Vermont needleworkers in the 19th century, then put needle to fabric yourself! Associate Conservator Awyn Rileybird will guide participants through a small needlework project inspired by the techniques featured in our current special exhibition On Point: Needlework from the Garthwaite Family CollectionUsing cotton thread and fabric, participants will create a decorative monogram or floral design to take home.

No experience necessary. Materials provided. Stitchers of any level of experience are welcome, with time to begin your piece during the workshop and guidance to continue it at home.
This after-hours program does not include Museum access. Members are encouraged to view On Point in the Dana-Spencer Textile Galleries at Hat and Fragrance in advance of the class.
