VIRTUAL MEMBER EVENT with Associate Curator Katie Wood Kirchhoff

Join us for an informative, entertaining hour of cocktails and conversation with the Curators at Shelburne Museum—just for Members!

Dubbed Vermont’s “painter laureate” by Life magazine in 1939, American 20th-century artist Luigi Lucioni (1900–1988) captured the textures of the Green Mountain State in meticulously rendered paintings and widely distributed engravings. Patron Electra Havemeyer Webb even offered up summer studio space at the Brick House during the 1930s, establishing a lifelong connection between the artist and Shelburne Museum. Join associate curator Katie Wood Kirchhoff for a conversation about Lucioni and his work as well as insights into ongoing research for the forthcoming exhibition and publication Luigi Lucioni: Modern Light, set to open at the Pizzagalli Center for Art and Education in the summer of 2022
