Artist Lecture – Carl D’Alvia: mono(LITHS)

Artist Carl D’Alvia presents on his Liths sculpture series, several of which are on view in Shelburne Museum’s exhibition, Carl D’Alvia: mono(LITHS).  D’Alvia’s work whimsically juxtaposes the Museum’s historical buildings, serving as amusing interlopers. D’Alvia shares, “I’ve always seen these large works being out in the world with us. Itinerant characters who slouch, bend, and wander through the world alongside us while holding a sort of sculptural mirror up to us.” Join us as D’Alvia explores what monuments can be and who they’re for.
