Shelburne Museum Presents: Panique

The newly restored and long-unseen postwar film noir masterpiece Panique is based on the Georges Simenon novel Les Fiançailles de M. Hire (Mr. Hire’s Engagement). Following the film screening, Bruce Goldstein, director of repertory programming at the Film Forum in New York and the founder of Rialto Pictures, will interview Georges Simeon’s son, Pierre, a writer and Shelburne resident, to discuss the restoration of the film and adaptations of his father’s work.
