Winter Lights Kicks Off Friday, November 21

SHELBURNE, Vt. (November 14, 2025)—Returning for its fifth season, Winter Lights at Shelburne Museum illuminates the dark days of winter with magic and wonder delighting visitors of all ages. Winter Lights opens on November 21 and runs through January 4, 2026, offering a festive experience that has become a holiday tradition.

Visitors are invited to bundle up and stroll the museum’s grounds, where iconic landmarks are transformed into a glittering wonderland. Thousands of colorful lights adorn favorite stops along the way, including the historic 220-foot steamboat Ticonderoga, its companion 1871 Lighthouse, the fan favorite twinkling forest of Beach Woods, and the museum’s gardens glowing with spritzers and baubles.

New for 2025, Winter Lights features reimagined displays throughout the grounds, a new interactive Illumination Station for children outside the Weathervane Cafe, and a charming model train in Diamond Barn. Whimsical weathervanes inspired by the museum’s collection will be illuminated on the Round Barn.

On Saturday evenings, and on December 26, visitors will enjoy watching local performers animate the Museum’s grounds with the mesmerizing flow artistry of Maiz on Fire Productions and the towering fantastical puppet creatures from Puppet Ruckus on the move throughout the grounds.
