Registration Opens for Shelburne Museum’s Summer Camps on February 1

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Shelburne, Vt. (January 25, 2024) Registration opens for Shelburne Museum’s summer camps on Thursday, February 1. Reimagined for 2024, the camp programs for children aged 4 to 15 are a playground for budding artists, offering the perfect mix of inspiration and self-discovery.

This hands-on art experience offers new ways of engaging with art while exploring the museum’s diverse collections and picturesque grounds. In this immersive and supportive environment, young artists will nurture their imaginative ideas, gain confidence, and grow into the artists they aspire to be.

Early Access registration for museum members opens on Monday, January 29.

Two offerings, tailored to specific age groups—Creativity Labs and Owl Cottage Academy—will be running in June, July, and early August.

Creativity Lab artists will embark on a week-long journey of creative experimentation and exploration. Campers will be given the time, space, and guidance to try out a wide range of artistic ideas, materials, and methods. Each day, the artists will explore the museum and fill their sketchbooks with creative inspiration to fuel their individual artistic adventures. By the end of the week, campers will have a portfolio of creations they can be proud of and a collection of new memories and experiences to carry along their creative paths.

Owl Cottage Academy is a specially designed adventure for our youngest and most spirited artists. Nestled among lush gardens, Owl Cottage is a perfect home base for museum exploration. Get ready for days filled with laughter, new friendships, and the thrill of artistic discovery. Owl Cottage Academy artists will engage with the museum’s fascinating collection and dive into a whirlwind of artistic expression, experimenting with an array of materials and methods that spark their imaginations. Immerse your little ones in a world where creativity thrives and where every moment is a chance to play, create, and nurture budding artistic minds. Campers may attend for a half-day morning session or a full-day session.
