LEAP! (Learn + Play) SUMMER CAMPS

Whether we’re hunting dragons, cooking on the hearth, or designing robots, Shelburne Museum’s summer camps offer children ages 5-10 the opportunity to engage their own creativity and imaginations. Each day campers have the chance to express themselves artistically, explore the Museum’s galleries and grounds, and play outdoors. Our fantastically fun, hands-on camps emphasize the creative process to give campers new perspectives on American artistic and historical traditions.

Registration for Museum Members begins on Monday, January 30, 2012. Open registration begins on Monday, February 6, 2012. Download registration forms here.

Please contact Hannah Weisman, academic programs coordinator, at (802) 985-3346 x3395 or education@shelburnemuseum.org for more information or to receive summer camp information by mail.

Time Travelers Join us for a ride through time as we investigate more than 200 years of American art and culture. August 6 2012 - Aug 10, 2012158-10$2509 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Take a ride in our time machine! We’ll set the dial for a different century each day as we investigate more than 200 years of American art and culture. Our adventure will start with a visit to the year 1795 to experience life as Vermont settlers. We’ll stop in on mid-19th century craftspeople before flashing forward to try out games and activities from when our parents were kids. Our voyage will take us to the present to discover the work of contemporary artists before we skip ahead to imagine and define the future.

Please note: campers will eat food that they prepare and cook at the Museum on a few days of camp. We cook with various grains, eggs, and dairy. Please notify us if your child has allergies or sensitivities and help us arrange a safe way for your child to participate.
