This unconventional, walls-free exhibition features eight large-scale, stainless steel sculptures activated by the wind. An artist, engineer, and graduate of the University of Vermont, George Sherwood has been creating kinetic sculptures since the 1980s. His works evoke shimmering leaves, flocks of birds, schools of fish, and waves of light or water while exploring the aesthetic systems of space, time, and the dynamic relationships of objects in motion. Wind speed and direction, shades of light, time of day, precipitation, and seasonal color all transform his work and make each encounter unique.
