Shelburne Museum

A new exhibit highlighting the transformation of travel over snow from horse-drawn sleighs of the 19th century to motorized snowmobiles in the 20th century.

The exhibit features extraordinary vintage and contemporary snowmobiles from the experimental early days to the heyday of the 1970s through the present.

Many snowmobiles are on loan from pioneering members of the Vermont Association of Snow Travelers. The exhibit also includes 19th century sleighs from the museum’s permanent collection.
