Virtual Field Trips
There is a reason why Shelburne Museum serves thousands of school children each year—it is an incredibly rich resource for learning about American history, industry, culture, and art. This year, we bring the Museum to your home or school with online content that is custom designed to encourage close looking, sharpen critical thinking, and nurture creativity. Explore our current collection of downloadable lessons and activities to use as a tool to enhance learning at home, and look for more information on our virtual field trips coming in 2021.
Beginning in February, join us for a virtual trip through our General Store. Students will learn about the history of the building, the importance of stores in communities, and concepts of fair trade. After a guided exploration of the General Store, students will participate in an activity to gain a deeper understanding of the economics of the barter system. This experience is geared toward 3rd grade and up but can be modified for younger learners.
Offered Tuesdays and Thursday 10-10:45 / 1:30-2:15 by pre-registering.
