Ages: 8-18

Tuition: $325

Size: 20

Note: former campers aged 14-18 can apply for a limited number of leader-in-training spots.

Travel back to 1850, when a vibrant mix of people flocked to Vermont to work on the railroads, in the textile and saw mills and on farms. Imagine you’re a French Canadian or Irish immigrant coming to start a new life, or a Yankee Vermonter meeting people from other cultures for the first time. In this week of improvisation in and around the buildings of the Shelburne Museum, we develop fictional characters with simple costumes who respond to the challenges of the time and learn to live together. Family and friends are invited to see highlights from the week’s adventures on Friday afternoon, August 11.
