Art at Hand Tours allow visitors who are blind or visually impaired to explore Shelburne Museum with specially trained guides. Participants will visit a gallery space; hear detailed descriptions of works of art, and utilize tactile pieces related to our collections.
This guided tour of the special exhibition Mapping an Uneven Country: Bird’s Eye Views of Vermont, open through March 3, will incorporate tactile objects to further explore the painted, drawn, and printed “bird’s eye” maps of the Green Mountain State that sprang up in the 19th century.
This event is FREE. Pre-registration required. To pre-register, please visit: art-at-hand-mapping.eventbrite.com or call Chloe Vogt at (802) 985-3346 x3394.
