The Center for Art and Education

Guided by the past yet evolving for a new generation of visitors, Shelburne Museum is diversifying its exhibitions and public programs to keep the Museum vibrant in the 21st century.

Currently,  space limitations and the Museum’s seasonality curtail the ability to offer comprehensive and dynamic year-round exhibitions and education programs for school, adult and senior audiences.

For these reasons Shelburne Museum is embarking on this transformative project. It is now time to fulfill Museum founder Electra Havemeyer Webb’s vision of  year-round education and access. It is time to make available the kind of first-class exhibitions and educational resources that will ensure a multi-faceted experience for all visitors to Shelburne Museum, from Vermont and around the world, for decades to come.

The Campaign for Shelburne Museum’s goal is $14 million. The goal includes the center for art and education, an endowment for the center and a communications upgrade throughout the Museum campus.

The Campaign for Shelburne Museum will benefit our community, visitors of all ages and the fields of art, Americana and design. Together we can ensure that the public can more deeply and accessibly experience, enjoy and learn from the artistic and cultural treasures at Shelburne Museum twelve months a year.
