Shelburne Museum Goes to the Dogs! Sunday, Sept. 12
SHELBURNE, Vt. (Sept. 2, 2010) Shelburne Museum Goes to the Dogs!, Vermont’s zaniest and wildest dog party, goes to the circus this year.
Circus is the theme for this year’s 10th anniversary event. The day-long celebration of four-legged friends, takes place on Sunday, Sept. 12 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event benefits dog rescue groups and humane societies.
The Grand Circus Parade is a highlight of the day with costume judging and awards. Categories of awards are: best circus animal; best side show attraction; best clown; best dog/owner combination.
The day’s activities include:
- MC Woody Keppel with Junior and Bella
- Entertainment by Waldo and Woodhead and comedy clown Tom Murphy
- Live music by the Milton Community Band
- Demonstrations by police dogs, hunting dogs and dancing dogs
- Flying disc dogs competing in the state championships
Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children (5-18). Museum members and dogs are free! Dogs must be on leashes. Tickets may be purchased in advance at Pet Food Warehouse locations in Shelburne and South Burlington.
