Family Days


Join us for special Family Days throughout the 2012 season. Each event offers visitors of all ages the opportunity to experience the Museum in a new way through art activities, live music, special guests, and other hands-on activities.
Spring Fest
10 a.m. – 4 p.m., Sunday, May 13, 2012
General admission
Celebrate spring at Shelburne Museum! Our opening-day festival features indoor and outdoor activities for visitors of all ages. Tour the Museum gardens, build a birdhouse, plant some flowers, or create a garden-inspired doll. Enjoy a Mother’s Day doll tea party and stroll the beautiful Museum grounds. Take in the museum’s 400 lilacs in 90 varieties that bloom this time of year!

Circus-palooza

General admission
Come one, come all to a circus spectacular as Shelburne Museum plays ringmaster to all things circus. Witness fanciful feats by circus artists while enjoying food, carnival games, and activities galore! Bring your family to our “Big Top” and experience a true circus extravaganza.
Shelburne Museum Goes to the Dogs: The Pawlympics!
10 a.m. – 5 p.m., Sunday, September 16, 2012
$10 for adults, $5 for children (5-18), Museum Members and dogs are free
The day made for dogs is presented by Shelburne Museum and locally-owned Pet Food Warehouse. Owners and their dogs will have the opportunity to test their Pawlympians in several disciplines in the DockDogs competition: Outdoor Big Air, Extreme Vertical, and Speed Retrieve. Other activities throughout the day include working dog demonstrations, the VT state disc dog championships and dancing dog demos.
Haunted Happenings
10 a.m. – 1 p.m., Sunday, October 28, 2012
$5 for everyone ages 3 and up. Members and children ages 2 and under are free.
“May the Force Be with You.” Join us for our annual day of Halloween fun! From Jedis and Kingons to Wookies and Cylons, meet aliens, robots and everything in between. Don your favorite costume from such science fiction classics as Star Wars and The Jetsons to Star Trek and the Transformers. Trick-or-treat at Museum buildings and participate in activities for aliens of all ages.
