Visitors can gain insight into America’s craft and cultural heritage at the following demonstration sites: the Blacksmith Shop and Print Shop.
Visit the Blacksmith Shop to see demonstrations of how early 20th-century blacksmiths practiced their trade. The Blacksmith Shop also houses a collection of 19th and 20th-century blacksmithing and wheelwrighting tools.
The Print Shop features letterpress printing demonstrations that highlight changes in printing technology through the 19th and mid-20th centuries. Museum printers work at a range of presses, from the manual acorn press to the automated Heidelberg press.
